Answers on printing, binding, shipping and costs for bachelor's theses, master's theses and dissertations
Everything you need to know about printing your thesis
Whether you are finishing a bachelor's thesis, master's thesis or dissertation, every decision matters close to the deadline: binding type, paper quality, number of copies and a correct PDF file. On this page you will find answers to the most common questions about our online printing service for academic work.
You can upload your thesis in the configurator, choose binding and finishing options, and complete your order online. If you are unsure which option fits your university's requirements, the answers below will help you prepare—or you can contact us directly.
Quick orientation before ordering
These answers help you prepare print data, binding and submission copies. You can check the actually available options directly in the ordering process.
We accept PDF format only. Please submit your thesis as a high-quality, print-ready PDF file. Make sure all fonts are embedded, images are high enough resolution, and the page order is correct. This helps avoid unexpected display issues in print.
How long does printing take?
Standard orders are usually completed and shipped within 3–5 business days. If your submission deadline is close, express options are available for faster production. The exact delivery time depends on page count, binding type and current workload—you will see available options during checkout.
Can I see a proof before final printing?
Yes. We provide digital proofs for all orders. You can review and approve your thesis before final printing begins. This helps you catch formatting errors, missing pages or incorrect order in time.
What binding options are available?
We offer hardcover, softcover, spiral and perfect binding. Hardcover is ideal for final submission copies, softcover is a flexible and affordable alternative, and spiral binding works well for drafts and working copies. Each option can be customized in the configurator with cover colour, embossing and other details.
Do you offer student discounts?
Yes, we offer special pricing for students. Contact us with your student ID or check during checkout whether current promotions are available. This lets you print and bind your thesis professionally without overspending.
Which paper is best for my thesis?
We recommend high-quality 100 gsm premium paper as standard. It feels more substantial than ordinary copier paper, does not show through, and gives your work a first-class tactile finish—especially important for double-sided printing. For longer master's theses and dissertations, paper quality makes a visible difference.
What is the difference between hardcover and softcover?
Hardcover is the most stable and premium option—similar to a bound book and ideal for official submission. Softcover is more flexible, lighter and more affordable, and suits term papers, extra copies or when your university does not require hardcover. You can compare both options in the configurator.
Will my data be deleted after printing?
Yes. Data security is our top priority. Your uploaded PDF files are used only for the printing process and are automatically deleted from our servers after a short retention period. Your academic work is not used for any other purpose.
Is there a preview before I complete my print order?
Yes. Our online configurator shows a real-time preview of your chosen binding and finishing options. You can check embossing, cover colour and layout before placing your order.
How do shipping and delivery work?
Finished printed and bound theses are securely packaged and delivered to your address via courier. Delivery time depends on the production option you choose and your location. During checkout you will see available shipping and express options so you can plan ahead of your submission deadline.
Which payment methods are accepted?
You can pay conveniently and securely online—including by credit card, PayPal and Klarna. All payments are processed with encryption, so you can complete your print order without visiting us in person.
Do I need to follow my university's requirements?
Yes, absolutely. Many universities specify binding type, page layout, paper, embossing colour or the number of mandatory copies. Check your examination regulations or ask your examination office before ordering. The configurator lets you adjust common options flexibly.
Can I customize the cover and embossing?
Yes. For hardcover and softcover you can choose cover colour, embossing colour and the text on the cover—such as title, name and university. The configurator shows a preview so you can check the appearance of your thesis before printing.
Is express printing available for tight deadlines?
Yes. If your submission deadline is close, you can choose express options for faster production. Availability depends on the length of your thesis and the binding you select. Starting early is still the safest approach—even with express, you keep room for corrections.
How many copies should I order?
That depends on your university's requirements. Often one to three mandatory copies are required, sometimes plus an extra copy for your supervisor. If you are unsure, order one copy more. In the configurator you can set the number of copies and see the price per unit directly.
Questions about printing and binding often depend on whether you are preparing a bachelor's thesis, master's thesis, dissertation or term paper. Page count, number of copies, binding type and required sections can differ by university and examination regulations.
